  13. The accompanying DeckBrowser software is for non-commercial use only.  It
  14. is to be made available to CanDo v2.5 users that desire to distribute their
  15. CanDo applications as non-commercial or public domain programs.

  17. Applications using Deckbrowser previous to version 2.5 are not affected by
  18. the revised licensing policy.

  20. Overall CanDo 2.5 Runtime License and Distribution Policy

  23. There are three types of software license arrangements that 
  24. are available to developers.
  25.  
  26. 1. Shareware and Freely distributed software.
  27.  
  28. Authors of non-commercial applications that are to be distributed freely
  29. among other enthusiasts and hobbyist may acquire a special version of CanDo
  30. Deckbrowser and DeckBinder.  Deckbrowser can then be included with the
  31. author's application and enable any Amiga user to run the CanDo
  32. application.  Authors may distribute Deckbrowser by simply providing a copy
  33. of their finished CanDo application to Inovatronics, Inc.  When launched,
  34. the new Deckbrowser now contains a small notice stating that it is
  35. explicitly for non-commercial use only.

  37. 2. Commercially marketed, sold and distributed software packages.
  38.  
  39. Developers of commercial software packages that are authored partially or
  40. entirely with CanDo must obtain a software license agreement from
  41. Inovatronics, Inc.  A custom CanDo runtime system will be provided to the
  42. developer that may be distributed with the application.  The developer will
  43. be charged a yearly license fee for the runtime system that will be
  44. determined by Inovatronics, Inc.  Typical fees will range between $50 to
  45. $200 and based upon the actual application.  This license will cover single
  46. or multiple software titles and apply toward all units sold.

  48. 3. Business, institutional, and value added software, used by or sold with 
  49. vertically oriented hardware systems.
  50.  
  51. Businesses, Institutions and Value Added Resellers that customize systems
  52. with CanDo applications then disseminate or resell the software/hardware
  53. solutions are required to either include a CanDo retail unit or license a
  54. CanDo runtime system from Inovatronics for each hardware delivery system. 
  55. Fees will be based on specific application and will be designed to be very
  56. cost effective for the user.
